What I do

I interview young people to find out about their backgrounds, competencies and interests. This information forms the basis for advice and guidance – whether it is in regard to choosing subjects, preparing financial scholarship applications or deciding upon a course of training or tertiary study.

I have had a lifelong interest in education, with a passion for helping students achieve, particularly in STEM subjects. I see a clear need for more specialised individual interviews with all secondary and tertiary students.

About me

I began my career as a science and senior chemistry teacher, combining this position with a pastoral care (Dean) role at St Cuthbert’s College. I moved into a Head of Science position, before being appointed to Deputy Principal Teaching & Learning, at Baradene College. I have always advised students on subject choices and possible career paths as part of these previous roles, and so three years ago, I transitioned into a full-time careers advisory position at Baradene College.

I am familiar with NCEA, Cambridge and International Bacchelaureate, having taught each qualification in New Zealand and overseas.
